  • My main research and clinical interest is the epidemiology, diagnosis and treatment of the common mental disorders of depression, anxiety and obsessive-compulsive disorder, the epidemiology of psychiatric symptoms in the general population and evidence-based psychiatry including meta-analysis.

  • How neuronal axons grow? Modelling of axonal growth and filopodia dynamics.

  • What defines neuronal/axonal growth? Intrinsic factors that promote axonal regeneration after insult.

  • Molecular and evolutionary aspects of prominent hubs/nodes in signalling pathways Ras/Erk and PI3K/Akt pathways, lipid signalling (phosphoinositides, lipid phosphate agonists).

  • Pharmacological targeting. Relevance for human diseases with emphasis given on neurodevelopmental disorders (neurofibromatosis type 1, autism, schizophrenia).
