According to the Hellenic Law 4009/2011, every Institution is responsible for ensuring and continuously improving the quality of its educational and research work, as well as for the effective functioning and performance of its services, in line with international practices, in particular those of the European Higher Education Area, and the principles and guidelines of the Authorityfor the Assurance and Quality Certification in Higher Education.

The Quality Assurance Unitis considered responsible for the above purpose in any HigherEducation Institution in Greece.

To facilitate these processes, each department designates an Internal Evaluation Group, which:

  • is responsible for conducting, in collaboration with the Quality Assurance Unit, the internal evaluation process of the Faculty of Medicine
    • monitors the completion of the faculty members' census and the students’ evaluation questionnaires of the teaching courses and the faculty, while it also informs accordingly the bodies and members of the academic unit
    • compiles the Internal Evaluation Report of the Faculty of Medicine, which it transmits to the Quality Assurance Unit and through it, to the Authority for the Assurance and Quality Certification in Higher Education
    • cooperates with the Quality Assurance Unit and the Authority for the Assurance and Quality Certification in Higher Education for the organization and implementation of the External Evaluation and Certification of the Undergraduate Curriculum of the Faculty of Medicine

The General Assembly of the Faculty of Medicine, at its meeting no.863α/11-7-2018, decided the composition of the Internal Evaluation Group, which consists of the following members:
