
The Faculty of Medicine of the University of Ioannina offers a post-graduate programme in “Basic Biomedical Sciences” with the participation of seven (7) Departments from the School of Medicine. The aim of the Programme is to provide scientists a thorough knowledge and excellent post-graduate training in biomedicine, offering, thus, advanced career prospects. For that, the collaborating Departments are Anatomy-Histology, Biology, Biological Chemistry, Clinical Chemistry, Hygiene and Epidemiology, Microbiology, Pharmacology and Physiology, from the School of Medicine.
The Programme leads to a Post-graduate degree in the discipline of Biomedical Sciences with 3 different specializations.

There are no tuition fees, the studies are intensive and they last one full-time academic year.
Graduates from the following Departments are eligible for admission: Faculty of Medicine, Biology, Biological Applications and Technologies, Molecular Biology and Genetics, Biochemistry and Biotechnology, Chemistry, Pharmacy, Dentistry, Environmental Studies, Agriculture, Food Science and Nutrition, Veterinary Medicine, Nursing, Mechanical Engineering and Computer Engineering, Sociology, Mathematics, Economics, Informatics, Physics and Psychology. Graduates can be from national universities and from recognized universities abroad as well as from TEI Departments of related subject areas.
Admission of students is based upon the following criteria:
The subject of the master thesis of this program covers a broad area of Basic Biomedicine Sciences.
