Course objective: To present basic principles and special issues of gynecological oncology.

Course content: Neoplasms of vulva and vagina. Cervical cytology and pathology: molecular markers. HPV vaccination, CIN and cervical cancer. Conservative treatment of uterine neoplasms. Sentinel lymph node in gynecological oncology. Fertility preservation in gynecological oncology. Borderline ovarian tumors. Molecular basis of ovarian cancer. Benign and malignant breast tumors: the role of oncoplastic surgery and axillary lymph node dissection. Molecular biology of tumorigenesis.

Teaching: Lectures. Students are expected to reach an adequate level in assessing a gynecological oncology patient and orient themselves during a relevant surgical operation. At the end of the course students are expect to deliver a review of the literature upon common gynecological oncology.
