Content of Course: The medical potential: educational strategy 'Learning-Based Problems'. What is health (and what illness). Causes of health and causes of disease. What is politics and what is Health Policy. How many doctors the country needs. Health systems. How many and what health professionals the country needs. The World Health Organization and the Political 'Health for All'. Medical Impact Studies (MDE). The ideal minister of health. International Health and Hygiene.

Form and outcomes of instruction: Small group teaching with problem-based Learning (PBL). The active participation throughout the course is evaluated. The last session will be self-assessment and evaluation of the whole group and the instructor.

The objectives of the course are that students:

  • Enterprise-documented answers to problems
  • Participate actively in the process of solving problems
  • Prepare for tomorrow's professional role in a multi-professional health environment that requires the ability to lifelong learning
