Cancer

Cancer is the second most common cause of death after heart disease with a significant burden on health systems. Mostly affects older people, but there are also forms of cancer that appear in young adults and even in children.

The term “cancer” essentially covers a group of diseases characterized by the uncontrolled proliferation of cells. This results in the development of a mass of cells, called a tumor. The interaction of cancer cells with the cells of the patient’s immune system also plays an important role.
